If I click the Share field at the top of a community, I guess it shares in that community (rather than just my own channel) but I'm not certain (doing it now, I guess I'll find out). (update - yes it works as expected)
I can comment on some people's posts but not others. I think there's a default of not giving permissions for that except for people you've added connections to. I'd like to change it to either allow others from this website or the network in general to comment. I saw an option for that previously, and I think I can get it back by going to channel setting, and changing from social - mostly public to custom/expert mode, and changing who can comment or like my posts to, e.g. anybody on this website. Maybe a bit complicated. I'd be happy with Tumblr-style "reblog" instead. Can I just treat "share" like reblog? I guess the main thing I'm not sure of is whether the original poster sees that I shared their post.
(Update - many posts don't let me "share" them either)
I see some "New member links" now I'm not on mobile, is there a way to see them on mobile? Maybe via a link, or maybe if I use the browser's "desktop view" option?
Some connections have a red circle with a line through it, what does that mean?
Also, elsewhere someone said you need to install the ActivityPub App to make connections work with mastodon or something. Just mentioning it here for any other readers. On desktop I can go to "Install more apps" under New Member Links to find it. On mobile, I think it was a bit harder to describe (clicking icons instead of text) so I've copied the "Install more apps" link here:
