Sharing Your Podfic
To share your podfic on @
Audiofic & Podfic, please first
connect with @
Audiofic & Podfic. Once connected, to share a podfic, you have a couple options:
- creating a new post on the @Audiofic & Podfic channel under your own name
- duplicating a post from your own channel (either at time of post creation or by editing that post)
Creating A New Post on the @Audiofic & Podfic Channel (under your own name)
This option is the most like typical community behavior on Dreamwidth or LJ, so it likely feels familar. :)
Authenticated as a user who is connected with the @
Audiofic & Podfic channel, go to the
channel page. You should have an option to share content. Write up your post, including the links to your podfic in the post, and ta-da! Will post under your user on the podfic channel.
Sharing a Post from your own Channel
This second method is what Hubzilla likes to call
"deliverable mentions" and I like to call "bang share".

To do this, create a post normally on your own channel, and then add a
!podfic
to the body of the post somewhere. This will copy the post to the @
Audiofic & Podfic channel, as well as leave the post on your own channel. Comments to the post in one channel will be reflected in comments to the other channel.
Hubzilla, Files, and Streaming
If you host your own podfic somewhere, all you'll need to create a streaming/download tool in your post is the direct url. Then, in your post on Hubzilla, use the
[audio] {podfic url goes here} [/audio]
tag. This creates an HTML 5 audio player. I haven't checked into what formats that all supports yet.
If you don't have a host, or want to have a back up copy, you can upload your file to your
Hubzilla cloud storage Then, get the permalink to your file, make sure your permissions allow for sharing, and use the audio tag from above with the permalink. I haven't gotten the UI editor's embed thing to work like I want it to yet, but that is theoretically there too, and has a nice little uploader built in.
Tagging Your Posts
Looks like the post on tagging for this comm is coming another day.
